The next generation
of Signallers.
Wavelength is the part of the Signal community for people on their way into cybersecurity. Students, people moving across from another career, and people building their first experience in it.
Next generation means where you are in the profession, not how old you are. Membership is free.
If you are trying to get into this industry, yes.
You do not need a job in cybersecurity, a degree in it, or a certification. You do not need to work for a company anyone has heard of, or to work for a company at all.
Wavelength exists because the people already doing this job learned most of it from other people, and because a profession that only talks to its own leadership stops learning.
Asking a basic question here is the point, not a problem.
The same community as the people already doing the job.
Signal is a community for the people responsible for cybersecurity. Wavelength is one half of it. Experienced practitioners and the people carrying the responsibility are the other half, and both sides share the same centre.
What your access includes
Wavelength members can take part in The Heartbeat through Ask Signal, War Stories and Signal Vox, and explore The Map and The Library within Wavelength.
What it does not include
The Signal Room, which is the space for Signallers to talk about work in confidence.
If you are further along than you think, Signallers may be the better fit: experienced practitioners and people carrying responsibility for security, risk or resilience, with no senior title required. Look at the Signaller route, or request access here and we will help work out which fits.
Three things, and the people behind them.
Explore the disciplines and the routes through them, find resources worth your time, ask questions, hear from people doing the work, and add what you know as you go.
The Map
A growing guide to cybersecurity disciplines, roles and routes into the profession.
The Library
A space for useful learning resources, developed with input from the community.
Ask Signal
Put your questions to the community, hear different perspectives and share what you learn. Questions and experience move both ways between Wavelength and Signallers.
We are building these resources with the community. You can help shape what comes next.
They live inside the community rather than on this website, so they can stay current and so the people who contribute to them can talk openly.
Wavelength gives you a place to learn with others and connect with experienced practitioners. It is a community, rather than a recruitment or formal mentoring service.
Request Wavelength access.
A short request form. No work email address required, no LinkedIn profile required.
Membership is free. Sending this does not create an account: we review each request and send joining instructions to the people we approve. Wavelength access does not include The Signal Room, which is the Signallers space.
